In order to make assurance doubly sure on the occupational health program at the processing and producing stages, we, Morimatsu Seafood Processing and Freezing, Co., Ltd., have accumulated know-how activity since we had adopted HACCP in April, 2000. And, we have just completed our renewal on factories, which is the base of this environmental consideration and are fully engaged in it. Not only the hard side of the aspect such as environmental consideration and facilities, but also we have improved work environment completely by assisting each worker's motivation. The very base of our principle and our "common slogan" for all workers is "we produce what we can feed our own children."
EUHACCP
In January 2004 Morimatsu Suisan Reito was certified under the rigorous EUHACCP standard. Under this certification we have had to qualify and quantify our production processes thereby 1. Enhancing further our Companies social standing 2. Further proving the quality and safety of our product. 3. Ensuring that the safety and social awareness of all employees has been heightened. 4. Strengthening our corporate competitiveness and social responsibility. With this certification we are also able to export our products direct to the consumers of the European Union and spreading the wonderful world of the Japanese diet to a wider audience. As a company we are determined to spread our wings on the international stage.
HACCP
Morimatsu Suisan Reito Company has always been determined to produce the safest and best quality product that we can. With our HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) certification we have instituted systems that quantify our care in production, meaning greater confidence for our customers as to product safety. The original HACCP system was developed in the US in the 1960s but has been manifold enhanced since then.
The HACCP system works by evaluating food safety at all stages of the production process to ensure that foodstuffs in production are never subject to risk of contamination or damage. The system works all through the supply chain to cover control points during procurement, production, distribution and retailing.
This international HACCP standard has not only provided us with a marketing edge, it marks Morimatsu Suisan Reito as a world class company, a company that holds product safety as crucial to ongoing success in markets around the corner and around the world.
ISO 9001:2000
In addition to our EUHACCP and HACCP certifications we are also certified under the ISO9001:2000 (International Standard Organization) management system. This system recognizes the extension of our product quality standards to embrace our management systems to ensure that these match.
In addition our JISQ9001:2000 certification is an internationally recognised organisational system standard that ensures we are constantly striving to improve our business management systems. All of which are to make sure that you, our valued customers are assured of the best service and quality at all times.
BRC
Our other international standards include the British Retail Consortium (BRC) certification. This accreditation is a recognition of quality food products that have been produced in a quality environment that is needed to meet the necessary standards of the British Retail Association.
The BRC accreditation is a combination of the HACCP and ISO systems and is indispensable for companies wishing to sell food products in Britain. Under this system we are able to ship directly and unconditionally to British supermarkets. Morimatsu Suisan Reito are therefore one of the recognised suppliers to the British retail sector.
